How does a typical session work
- Your Equinnetics Therapist will start the session by asking a few questions about your horse's history, previous and current injuries, work program and current training problems.
- Your therapist will the move to the evaluation of your horse. During this part of the session your horse move around while therapist evaluates key points.
- Next your horse will be get sponged down with salt water - which helps to conduct the electricity through the horses muscles -on areas that require therapy.
- A surcingle and a plate will be attached to your horse to conduct the electricity into the horses body.
- A hand held electrode attached to the WG Transeva and handled by a trained therapist will send a pulse into the muscle allowing it to contract and release. The hand held electrode allows the therapist to have constant control over the pulse which allows a therapist to change the speed and depth of each pulse as the muscle group responds to the therapy. This current allows the therapist to activate and isolate single muscle groups to improve them. In targeting specific muscle groups the therapist can assess the muscle tone of each group and work on them accordingly without the horse compensating or hiding weaknesses or injuries.
- After the session the horse will be walked out again and his movement will be assessed.

Frequently asked questions about a Transeva session
- When can I ride my horse once he/she recieved a Transeva treatment session? A horse can be ridden right before or after a Transeva session. The Transeva was designed to fit into the horse and riders routine flawlessly. At Equinnetics we understand the value of time with your horse. We also believe horses thrive with routine and structure. We thus aim to incorperate our treatment sessions to suit your schedule so that no riding or training time is missed.
- Is a Transeva session painful for my horse? When the Transeva sends an impulse into the muscle the muscle will contract and release as it naturally would when it recieves an impulse from the brain. This involuntary muscle reaction can feel strange but is not painful. The horse can feel a slight discomfort over areas that are effected by nerve pain, scar tissues and stiffness. Our Transeva practitioners are trained to adjust the pulse of the Transeva to work with the muscle to develop correct movement and release tension without causing the horse pain.
